Dr. Ahmed Abourahma – Specialist in Pediatrics
Dr. Ahmed Abourahma graduated from Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine and obtained his Master's degree in Pediatrics and Neonatology from Ain Shams University, Egypt. He is a Member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, UK.
Dr. Ahmed has extensive experience in managing neonatal diseases. He is proficient with the most advanced ventilators and high-frequency ventilation techniques for managing respiratory distress, providing respiratory support using low-flow nasal cannula oxygen, high-flow nasal cannula oxygen, and initiating Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and IV antibiotics.
He is skilled in handling extreme preterm babies (born at 24 weeks of gestation with a weight of 500 grams), including multiple pregnancies. Dr. Ahmed expertly manages perinatal hypoxia, starting total body cooling and Cerebral Function Monitoring (CFM), controlling convulsions, and treating neonatal jaundice with phototherapy and exchange transfusion. He also treats neonatal sepsis.
Dr. Ahmed is proficient in performing all invasive procedures in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), including arterial and venous umbilical catheter insertion, surfactant therapy, and the insertion of peripheral and central venous lines.
